Con el amanecer del nuevo año, Ankai Bus promptly celebrated a "successful start" to its vehicle exports. On January 7, 2026, the "Delivery Ceremony for 215 Ankai Buses Exported to Mexico" was smoothly held at the Ankai Bus factory. These 215 Ankai natural gas buses will soon embark on an overseas journey to Mexico, where they will be officially integrated into Monterrey's public transportation system, empowering the local transport sector with low-carbon, energy-efficient mobility solutions.
The 800-unit natural gas bus export order in 2022 stands as a milestone in the collaboration between Ankai Bus and Mexico. Back then, Ankai secured the largest-ever single order for Chinese bus exports to Mexico. The 800 units of 10.5-meter natural gas buses were progressively deployed in Monterrey, significantly improving local public transportation conditions while also laying a solid groundwork for Ankai's expansion into the broader North American market.
Looking back, the foundation for deep-rooted collaboration was established early on. Ankai commenced batch exports to Mexico as far back as 2017. Over the past decade, Ankai's natural gas buses have entered service in several key Mexican cities, including Monterrey, Chihuahua, and Ciudad Juárez. With their stable and reliable performance, coupled with clean and environmentally friendly advantages, they have become an important force in the local public transit sector, firmly establishing the "Made in China" brand image.
Today, trust has been elevated to a new level, and cooperation continues to deepen. After a year and a half of persistent efforts, Ankai Bus has once again secured a new export order from Mexico for 215 natural gas buses. These vehicles integrate lower gas consumption, enhanced power, and extended range. With their outstanding performance and eco-friendly qualities, they will support Monterrey in accelerating the transformation of its urban transportation and provide local residents with a cleaner, more convenient, and pleasant travel experience.
Nestled in northern Mexico against the eastern foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range, Monterrey is known for its beautiful environment and stunning landscapes. It ranks among Mexico's most livable and industrially advanced cities, often hailed as the "City of Mountains" and the "Capital of the North." Thanks to its forward-looking commitment to and continuous focus on ecological protection, Monterrey consistently leads in Mexico's sustainable development rankings, serving as a benchmark for regional green growth.
The batch-exported 12-meter natural gas buses are customized products developed by Ankai Bus based on precise market research into Mexican needs. Using natural gas as the core power source, these buses can significantly reduce emissions of pollutants like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides compared to traditional diesel buses. This aligns perfectly with Monterrey's green public transit development goals, fulfilling ecological and environmental protection principles while optimizing operational cost control.
Ankai Bus has always adhered to a long-term R&D strategy, continuously strengthening its efforts in core technological breakthroughs. It has built competitive strengths across multiple eco-friendly powertrain sectors, including pure electric, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, and natural gas. Presently, Ankai's green mobility footprint extends to numerous countries and regions such as Russia, France, Italy, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and Kyrgyzstan, consistently sharing China's green transportation technology and sustainable development concepts globally.
Where products go, service leads. Ankai Bus understands well that excellent products require robust service support, especially in overseas markets where efficient, attentive service is key to earning long-term customer trust. To ensure the smooth deployment and stable operation of these 215 buses in Mexico, Ankai has already established a comprehensive, customized service chain covering pre-sales, during-sales, and after-sales phases, providing all-around support to its clients.
During the pre-sales phase, Ankai's technical team conducted in-depth research into Monterrey's operational scenarios, road conditions, and climate characteristics, leading to targeted optimization of the 12-meter natural gas bus design. The vehicles feature a proprietary full-frame body with optimized gas cylinder layout. They employ cathodic electrocoating and metallic paint to effectively enhance corrosion resistance. Interior space layout was also optimized, incorporating a low-entry step design for easier passenger boarding and alighting, further improving ride comfort.
For after-sales support, Ankai will extend its established service model in the Mexican market. Professional service engineers will be stationed locally long-term to provide timely technical support, maintenance, repair, and personnel training services. From product customization to technical support, from maintenance to training, Ankai Bus ensures stable vehicle operation in Mexico with comprehensive, high-quality service, allowing customers to operate with full confidence.
The departure of 215 natural gas buses marks a powerful testament to Ankai Bus's commitment to solidifying its presence in the Americas and building an exceptional reputation. It is also a vivid example of Chinese intelligent manufacturing empowering sustainable global transportation. Looking ahead, Ankai Bus will continue to deepen its overseas market footprint, enabling more high-quality Chinese buses to take root and thrive around the world.
